Yup. Mine came with US maps only. I purchased and downloaded Europe maps to my computer and transferred them to the Nuvi by USB cable and using it every day while I am on an extended assignment in France. Mine was also the LM (lifetime maps) version and I have already updated the US map. With LM you can do this whenever an update is available for your built in maps for free.
That seems to be ANOTHER thing that pushes up the cost of the Zumo- it does not include map updates, and it has an annoying screen every now and then to "remind" the user when the maps are a year out of date. How helpful. NOT.
