Saddlebag Restoration/Replacement
« on: May 12, 2014, 11:53:37 AM »
My girlfriend is harping about about the existing saddlebags looking long in the tooth and not latching properly and would like me to either restore or replace the ones we have.  The left one is cracked and patched where a previous owner dropped it.  She like the Shad topcase I added last year and would frankly like to see something like that.

Are their aftermarket panniers available for the concours or what would be the best way to get a hold of new latches and/or newer panniers to put on my 1997?  If I can keep her happy about details like this, she is supportive of my spending on the connie and my old GPZ so, I am up for keeping her happy.

I saw a connie in town here for sale with the shad cases on it.....perhaps I've just had stock too long, but I didnt care for the look of the non-stock side cases.

No,  staying with the Connie as my touring rig.  In a couple of years I would like to get an adventure tourer, but  I have put too much time and money into the Connie to get rid of it. She will still be my cross country rig.

I just have keep my girlfriend happy so she is cool with me doing the upgrades on the other bike.
