Hot wiring the connie
« on: November 26, 2011, 04:00:04 PM »
Hey guys, I'm about to take a long trip, on one of my bikes I have a hot wire setup. Instead of a switch I have the two wires that need joining tapped to the two hot wires, and the end of those wires have a [covered] male a female connector I can connect if need be.

This saved my ass once when I lost my key (which was hanging in my topcase the whole time).

Anyway, looking through a couple of wiring diagrams I see the only two wires leading to the ignition are Brown and White. I haven't double checked the physical ignition on the bike to confirm though.

So is that it? Connect brown to white and voila no key needed?

This may be better dealt with via PMs rather than having this mod available to anyone visiting the forum?

Just carry an extra key taped to the frame you don't need to hassle with hot wiring.  If you don't have an extra, I'd get one.
