Well, the problem was gradually getting worse.  Starvation was starting to happen with even less mileage on a tank at high load/throttle (started at 200 miles, now noticeable at even 150 miles).  So between that and the forks leaking, I FINALLY took it in to a local shop for service two days ago.  They called this morning saying they sucked out gas to just half tank (which would be like 125 miles driven) and easily replicated/confirmed the problem exists and asked permission to put it on a dyno for more troubleshooting (apparently adding an hour labor to a yet unknown bill).  So now I wait for news...

Sigh, tomorrow looks like PERFECT bike-riding weather.

Ever wonder why the guitar solo on Michael Jackson's "Beat It" sounds familiar to rock music listeners?
It's because it was Eddie Van Halen.

How about the wailing, crying sound of the guitar on Ringo Starr's "It Don't come Easy"?
Eric Clapton.

The drum solo on the opening theme song of the TV show "Hogan's Hero's?
Bob Crane, Hogan himself.

Betty Rubbles voice on the TV show "The Flintstones"?
Bea Benaderet who also played Kate on the TV show "Petticoat Junction"

The cat is not doing its job.   ;)   Rodents are trouble.  I've always left a loaded mouse trap in the garage.

Bike had a dead battery so it sat in my garage untouched for 2 weeks and it runs terrible. I decided to open the air box and this is what I found.... Damn mice!!!

Julie London, just about anyone over 50 knows her as Nurse Dixie McCall on the old Emergency TV show back in the 70's.

In the 40's and 50's she was a big band singer for some big name groups and went on to record a few hits.

She was married in real life to costar Bobby Troupe who played Dr. Early on the show. BTW, he showed up for his audition for the part on the show sporting a ponytail haircut.

The shows characters inspired many future RN's and firefighter/paramedics, it was a very popular show, both my wife and I watched the show as kids.

I'm a firefighter/paramedic and she's an RN/paramedic.

Just finished a valve check/adjust. Put Delk headers on while it was in it's exploded state. Did the coolant, plugs, brake and clutch fluids too. 2 weeks start to finish with ordering parts, used Murphs for the gaskets, summit for the shims. Worked on it sunday's primarily, putting an hour or two in a couple times during the week after work. Probably 25-30 hours total on the project, just taking my time.
Job is done, have ridden 10 minutes with the headers on, not sure I'm happy. Been running Steve's full system flash for almost a year, but didn't swap the stock headers for the Delk until the valve check/adjust I just performed. Just been running the slip on. Nice noticable gains down low, a little more peppy throughout the rev range with the stock exhaust and  with slip on.
Admittedly, I haven't really put but 7 miles on it but it feels unflashed now at the low end of the rev range. I packed the reducer into the pipe per Shoudabeen instructions. It just doesn't seem to have recovered the 18 or so ft/lbs around 3500+.
I may wind up putting the stock tubes back on before heading back to the Sierra Nevadas because the low end response and pull from those little tubes was quite nice. I may not even be able to tell it's got 5-10 more HP when I'm screaming it, so I feel like it may not be worth the trade off. I'll see how I feel after putting a few more miles on.
Update.. rode it a bit more and it does seem to have retained the lower end grunt. Nice work, big thank you to Shoudabeen Steve!!
