I decided to change the oil on the connie tonight before I went to the motorcycle show tomorrow. After I got the oil drained, I opened the filter box up and apparently the stealer thought I had a spoofak or something, because he gave me a spin on oil filter of some sort. Does anyone know a cross reference number for a filter I can get Tonight at Autozone or Oreilly's?

Yeah right. We know you did that off the top of your head. ;D

And you can add, I believe it is, a Fram CH6009. Same filter with slightly different larger o-ring which may not necessarily need to be changed. I've had pretty good luck finding filters at Advance Auto as opposed to the others.
-
O'Reilly's had the 6012 Fram in stock. Thanks again!

Tony,
Great list really helpful. Copied it to my Connie information page.
thanks,

Y'all are all most welcome..... ;)

I see the Fram CH6012 at Wal-Mart all the time.
I never had a problem with it.

Most of the Wal-Marts around me here in NC stopped carrying the Fram CH6009 and CH6012 a little while back. I'm still not sure why....they still stock a couple of the Fram spin-on motorcycle filters. I think you can still find the 6009 and 6012 filters at the auto parts places like Advance, Autozone and O'Reilly's though. One of these days I'll get my SPOOFAK installed and not have to worry about it!

Dittto Marlan, I have to get mine at Advance Auto. I usually buy 4 of them at a time. That lasts me about a year. Stock up my friend. ;)

Question...why would you not go to the parts store until you have the part #? Can't the counterperson look it up?

The word "Kawasaki" or "motorcycle" initiates puzzled looks and head shaking at my local Vato Zone.
-
but the people at Auto Zoo can't give you anything without looking up the part in their computer. Moto Guzzis are in their listing so Kawasaki is a piece of cake.
-
You don't wait for them to get the filter. You just go pull it off the shelf.
-
After they give you the # IF it isn't behind the counter or you use the book hanging in the filter section of the store. 8)
