Yep that stinks. Found something similar after work a few months ago. Grateful for the tire and wheel insurance at that point. Of course, I've learned on this site that plugging the tire is not a big deal. ;)
-
Nice. Looks like a hitch pin. Never seen that before. Did the TPMS show you or the noise going down the road?
-
That sucks, and a big ole hole too.

Hahaha its an FJR. No TPMS. I was a few blocks from the house. I knew exactly when I picked that sucker up. Felt a burn In my wallet and a thump thump thump on the road. Its a big hole I am not sure I would use a rope plug, but I might use one of them patchplugs that go on from the inside if I knew where to get one.

The pin is close to 1/8 inch. If you can find a tire shop that still knows what hot vulcanizing is that may work.
-
.180 bigger than 1/8" i just measured it for kicks.
-
:o That sucks man!
Looks like one of those saddlebag security things from zsteve... was there by chance a scuffed up C14 saddlebag laying somewhere close to it?? ;)
-
here is the whole pin. It went in almost parallel to the tread. I don't think I wanna patch it.

If it didn't go in straight scrap the tire.

But it's an FJR so maybe he'll be ok. ;)
