Last Sunday an SUV made a left turn in front of me. http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=3569.0 (http://www.zggtr.org/index.php?topic=3569.0)
Now I haven't heard from her insurance yet. State farm
Just looking for some pointers.
Already took the bike in and got a quote. Anyone had to deal with State farm for claims?
Appreciate your input.

Never dealt with state farm but when I was hit from behind by a guy on a HD I had to wait until his insurance got a police report that put him at fault. he hit me from behind but his insurance company still would not pay until the police report was done. The accident was in Utah and I live in Calif so that made it that much harder. My son had a lady turn left in front of him and he had to wait about 6 weeks to get his check because it totaled his road king.
If you turn it into your insurance company they will fix your bike now and then go after the other person for the money. Just depends on if you want your company involved or not. Have you called state farm and ask them what the hold up is?

I had State Farm for several years. I woudl still have them if they were not so damn expensive. I actually kept them insuring my house due to amazing service.
I've had some very odd claims over the years. Cars damaged from a garage door that ripped in half is one that comes to mind. They also bought three motorcycles that were totaled.
I always had excellent service from their claims dept.

My wife totaled her car on August 4th. Not her fault, guy who caused it ran. On August 18th my insurance company still hadn't made a decision as to whether to total or fix the car and was giving me the run around. I sent a letter to the company, my agent, and the body shop explaining what I was told and by whom. It was obvious that somebody was lying or I was wrong. I told them that I'd better get a lawyer to straighten it all out. Got a check 3 days later.

See above thread. I believe the insurance company involved is state farm.
