Title: Concours Addict
Post by: MrPepsi on August 11, 2011, 02:22:44 PM
My name is Brent and I am a Concours addict.
I ride nearly every day, and after my long distance rides, I get home, unpack and I feel the need to ride again.

I figure since the crash of Spring 2011 we haven't had a place to go to seek help for our addiction any longer. (The thread was lost) I figured we all could use some help with therapy.

I think you're supposed to bring donuts and beer for the rest of us the first time you stand up and admit to your obsession.

I rode my Concours today in the brutal south FL heat.  It was hot from the time I rolled it past the AC equipped Tundra Truck. I would rather push my Concours around Tampa than drive the nice, cool, comfortable, Tundra.

My name is Steve and I share your addiction (http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/avatars/iconhammer.gif)

Hi my name is Adam and I'm a Conniehaulic. In this, one of the hottest known summers in Texas history I've been riding my Connie to work on a daily basis. It all started after a seemingly innocent week long vacation in and around the Deals Gap area. Now I just can't seem to get enough. There seems to be a hole in my soul that only a ride on my Connie can fill. I'd tell more but I just gotta go for a ride...... 8)

Hi, my name is George and I'm a Kawihaulic. I have 2 bikes, a C10 and an EX250, ride them alternately. Their characteristics are complementary.

Even with the weather protection of the C10 and winter gauntlets, I ride in the cool fall Ottawa Canada temperatures until I get frost-bitten fingers. Just can't help myself.

Worse than that, I work on winter projects in the freezing garage wearing a parka, work gloves and get numb fingers. What can I do?

My Connie is currently parked in the middle of five cruiser bikes here at work.  And, of course, I'm the only guy who wears ATGATT (HJC Symax II helmet, Joe Rocket jacket & gloves), every one else has vests and sleeveless shirts.  At least our boots and jeans match...

I've put 40K on my Connie in the last two years.  So, yeah, I have a fondness for the girl!

It's all good though.  I got the 'nice Beemer' compliment earlier today at the gas station!

"Cornelius!  It's me, Bob."

I am also addicted and am glad that my wife is an enabler.   She goes on the occasional ride with me and even allows me to sleep in bed with her after spending to much money on farkles and riding gear.   ;D

You've got it bad dude.

Go take two farkles off your bike and call me in the morning.

I'll take the exhaust off to replace it with an AreaP [I wish], and the sheepskin pad can come off when I find some twisties in West Virginia tomorrow.

Hi, my name is George and I am a GTR Addict.
It started back in 1994 when I bought a 1986 model GTR1000.
Since then I have bought 4 other GTR1000's (I still have 2 of the 5) and I now also have a 1400GTR.
I have a garage full of GTR1000 parts, and a website called http://www.gtr1000.com (http://www.gtr1000.com)

I ride my 1400GTR about 120 miles per day, half motorway and half twisties.
Do I have a SEG when I arrive at work? YOU BETCHA! :D

Yes, I am an addict and the only cure is MORE GTR's.
And I want a ZZR-1400 (ZX14) as well.  8)

Yup, gotta get with Al on that. I hope he's not too anal about it, odo only shows 46,300. I've had three speedo cables break on trips, about 53-5500 miles not showing. The last one was for about 3300 miles on my eight day, 48xx mile blast up to James Bay. The bummer part of that was I found a spare speedo cable that I had packed on the bike, when I got home and unpacked everything. I s'pose I could hook up a drill to it and get some easy miles back. :yikes:

Hi Brent,
I understand your pain.  I, too, have the same problem.  I have found if you go to the temple and become a monk to serve COG, the pain lessens considerably.  Try it.  Your Southwest brethren will shower you with love if you do. ;)
