Title: Least Expensive OE parts
Post by: roadrunner322 on August 01, 2011, 07:31:42 PM
Just a heads up

I just ordered new front wheel bearings and seals from Carolina Cycle.  Their prices are the best I've found.  I have ordered from babbitts before and their prices are higher and shipping costs are higher than Carolina Cycle.  I received them in Homestead Fl today and I ordered them last Thurs.

Heretic!  Murph has them.  Didn't check out shipping at Carolina Cycle, but $26 shipped for a front set for the later bikes from Murph. (vs. $27 + shipping from Carolina Cycle)    $33 for the earlier bikes.  (vs. $29 + shipping from Carolina Cycle)

Holy Carp!  I just put stuff in my basket at Carolina Cycle, and the shipping is $10.95 for a set of bearings and seals.   :o

They may not be OE Kawasaki parts from Murph, but I'll save the bucks.

The point is---------------OE parts are less expensive at Carolina Cycle.

And thanks for the info on Murphs.  I didn't realize I could buy bearings there.

As usual, RonAyers has a better price.  There are a few (Very few) times when they don't have the best price, but overall, there's a reason they are my go-to place for ordering parts.  As an independent mechanic, I do my best to find the best prices for my customers.  Doesn't hurt that they tend to be Fast with shipping (not Murphs fast, I've twice ordered on Friday and had in hand on Monday), and have excellent customer service for the rare times when there's a mistake/problem.  I'd rate them right on up there with NewEgg on the computer side of the world.

A set of front wheel bearings for a '99 bike (what I own) is 24.90 shipped.  Yes, that is for a set of 2, OEM front wheel bearings.

Gotta love that the online fiche also uses Real parts numbers, not some made-up crap like so many places try to pass off.
