Title: Hwy 311 out of Roanoke VA.

I'm heading to WV from Eastern NC the end of the month. I travel this way quite a bit and always take the same route. I am interested in reports/ opinions of hwy. 311 running out of Roanoke, Va to Lewisburg, WV. I usually take 220 out of Roanoke up to I-64 and over to WV 219. An alternet route of 311 looks like a lot of fun just looking at the map. Any input would be appriciated.

To New Castle it's a pretty gentle road.  After that it gets a bit curvy from what I'm told.

220 north of covington is good for about 10 miles up. If you want to continue on up to HotSprings its not a bad ride.
