Title: 2009 Concours for $6000
Post by: Connito on June 18, 2011, 01:40:07 PM
Not mine, nor do I know the seller. I believe is a fair price, so I posted it. If someone wants me to check it out, I will be more than happy to do so.

Send him a money order and he will ship it to you free of charge.  :rotflmao:

The money order needs to be for $9500.  He will wire you back $3500.  Also, I believe your Nigerian uncle just passed away and you may have inherited $9,000,000.  Just wire over $3000 to my account for "legal" fees.

If I lived back in the area I for one would be trying to get lucky with that.

The ad doesn't look like the regular scam ads and the car behind the bike has MA plates. That doesn't mean much, but... If I had the money I would have contacted him.
Again, I don't know the seller and have no interest in this at all.

Cheers,
Pete

But he did call it a Concourse, so something is wrong.

I'll bite! I just sent an e-mail to the ad. I'll let you know how I make out. Either scam, sold, or ready for repo.

Maybe that's what he owes on it and just wants out... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)

What's KBB trade in on that model with the miles anyway, maybe the dealer only offered him $5k trade in and he thought screw that I'll just sell it myself?? (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/smiley_dunno.gif)

Let us know what you find out Scaffolder... (http://i1200.photobucket.com/albums/bb336/jaywilcox/wait.gif)

I'm curious myself.  It's hard to believe someone would offer it that cheap.  It's almost like he fat-fingered the number keypad and meant to hit a 9 and instead hit 6 and never proof read the ad.  Yeah, I know, I'm grasping for a LOGICAL reason... ???

Happens a lot, they take the picture from another ad and make their own post. Tell them you want to come look at it because your only a few ,miles from where  it is listed fir sale and they will tell you that it's at their other house in another state. Tell them your son lives there and he will look at it for you, you will never hear from them again,

I sent an email as soon as I saw this thread and have yet to hear back from the "seller".  I seriously doubt that this is a legit deal, but if it is then someone has probably already bought it.  I hope my dad can get this bike if it is for real.

I was browsing CL this morning, almost spilled my coffee in the keyboard.
Was listed at 9:34am EDT. I sent a e-mail to seller at 10:15am.
Then debated whether or not to go to the bank before it closed at noon.
Glad i didn't go, because no reply as of yet.
The feel of the add looks legit. Bike has Mass plate with a 2010 inspection sticker. But you never can tell.
I looked in KBB and "trade in value" is around $6500 for a non ABS model.
Maybe the seller just looked it up quick on KBB and was not paying attention.
I live in Metro West so I'm about 30min away.
Connito you must know, being from around here that, lots of people in Chestnut Hill have no concept of money.
I'm not holding my breath but I will update if I hear from the seller.

P.S. If I do hear from the guy, I will have a low mileage 01 C10 for sale! LOL...  ::)

I haven't heard back either. And yes the Chestnut Hill area people have different thoughts about dollar values.

I agree about the Chestnut Hill area! In fact, that's one of the reasons I thought the ad might be legit.

If you guys haven't heard from him so far, I doubt you will.

Cheers,
Pete

Judging from the sellers email's sent to me, it looks like it was legit.
You never know what you may find on CL. Yes there are lots of scams out there. But there are a lot of fire sale/deals. You just have to be careful!
I will add. I purchased my 2001 C10 over a year ago for the sum of $400. At first I did not believe that add. It had 5k on it with a hydro-locked motor. The PO nor I had any idea what was wrong, till I tore the motor down. Then with spare parts help from some of the great people on this forum, I got it up and running.
So for short money, some hard work + a bunch of upgrades from Murph. I now have a great running bike that I have put almost 6k on in the past year.

He emailed me back also and said it was "SOLD"

Looked legit from every angle.  The price was so low that it probably sold within 30 minutes of posting his craigslist ad.
