Damn thats pretty cool.  I think my wife would kill me if I spent that much on a windscreen though.  Better off waiting a few months.

Let us know how it is!

Sorry for the crappy iphone garage pics but it's raining like a mutha here in the PNW, so you get what you get and you'll be happy with it...  ;D :chugbeer:

I'm thinking  (doesn't happen often) I might order black because It would look better in the up position, and it blends well with the scheme of black and silver.......thinking.................... :finger_fing11:

ZG,
The black WORKS on that red bike, dude!
Beautiful.

If that windscreen works half as well as it looks... major score!

It's not often I get THIS jealous... ;)
Lol

Looks awesome, Jay. Congrats.

I am very interested to know about the screen's performance...
Thinking about buying one myself. These Oklahoma summers with high humidity are rough behind that tall CB I have now.

But, I hate riding on a "naked" feeling bike... Wind gets to be a drag after about an hour or so.
Looking forward to hearing how well you like it, once the weather breaks.

Well, I really like the nose cone on, I think it really does complete the looks of it, especially cool IMO when you raise up the screen and that V part separates!  8)

But on the other hand, I also wish that it was more easily removable and attachable for swapping out to use other shields during the winter/rain etc. I normally run the CB shields, the CD nose cone can stay on the upper with the CB shield mounted and it doesn't hit it or anything, but it does look a little odd IMO...  :-\

So, does it block much airflow with it raised up?
In other words, down for lots of air, up for protection?
Or is at all air, all the time, regardless?

In comparison to my CB shield I'd say not all that much protection in the full up position, yes it does provide some protection in the up position, but not enough to bang through a major rain storm, the main purpose of this sportscreen is definitely for warm summer-like weather.

What's the airflow across the helmet feel like in both positions? Do you get a nice, clean, quiet flow? I know if I stand up on my Connie with the stock shield down, my RF1100 gets quieter and smoother than if I'm sitting behind the shield.

Very clean air indeed WG, pretty much full on air to the chest and head.

I purchased one of Jay's sportscreens that he never used and installed. This screen really changes the dynamics of this bike. It transforms the front end from the toury side of Sport Touring to much more of a Sport bike look. Looks like a falcon head up front the way the air vents and nose cone are designed. Sitting on the bike gives the sensation that you are on the ZX14 more then the C14 as the screen is so low cut.

The sensation while riding is very different then the stock screen. As Jay pointed out this does throw a ton of air at you. At 80MPH I feel like I better be holding on well or I will be blown back. Oddly I have a sport screen on my FZ1 and it does not give me that same sensation and I believe the difference is in seating position. On the FZ1 I am leaning more forward as I also have lowered triple clamp set up on that bike and on the C14 I am sitting a bit more upright. I am 6'2" and the stock handlebar position does not require me to reach for the bars much.

So love the look and I enjoy the sensation of a more open air feel however I don't think you would want to tour far with this setup or ride in cold weather with it but otherwise an awesome product. Thanks Jay.

Yeah I had to give in and tell her. Took her for a ride (finally) and she was complaining about how much wind was hitting her, so I had to break down and tell her that I actually have a taller screen we can try on the next ride. Oddly she didn't ask any heated questions. I think shes a keeper.

I am about to place my order.  I have read the previous posts, and I know it looks great, it is expensive, it takes a while to make, and significantly changes the riding experience with respect to wind.  I am six feet exactly, and I ride daily in Houston, which is about to get very hot.  I want something to help me cool off.  Everyone seems to be very happy.  Are there any concerns about the product itself i should know about?  Thanks in advance!

From the other thread, mine were mainly two concerns- about using risers (handlebar clearance) and the "stick on" nose thing (which is a bit strange; and only a concern if you plan on trying to switch back to a regular windscreen for when it is not hot).

Doggone it.  I ride all winter long even when the temps are in the high 30s and 40s.  I'll need the stocker back on there.  The post about the adhesive has caused me to really think about it.  I want to be able to go back stock in the winters.  Is there any other option to cool down?  Is there any way to make the copperdawg easily interchangeable?

I don't have a pic right now . I cut four inches off and could have cut two more. I used a jigsaw and hand sanded the edges. I finished the edge with a propane torch. there are several done that way by the members here with pictures. A couple have been painted black on the inside for an excellent look. I'll see if I can find the thread.
