I was at the dealership today getting my brake recall work done. Spent the 30 minutes wandering around the showroom talking with one of the salesmen about all the various bikes, how I love my Connie, etc. We were standing next to a 2012 green ZX14 and talking about the 1" Heli risers that it has on it. Another salesman walked up and hung a sign on the bike, telling what it was, and how much, etc. Anyway, the bike was used but only had 295 miles on it. I actually thought it was new. Seems the buyer over-reached his budget (or his wife's wrath) and had to turn it back in to the dealer at a loss.
I look down at the sign and see the price for this virtually brand new monster bike is $7,995 plus ttl. Unable to speak, I take a second look at the tag. Yes, USED 2012 with ONLY 295 miles. I'm just about to shout, "I'll take it." when the guy I'd been talking with snatches the sign off the bike and tells the other guy that the price is wrong and must be a typo.
Dang, I was THAT close to owning a brand new, bad a$$ bike for a song. (They probablly wouldn't have followed through with that price anyway.)

Thats probably the number that they gave the poor guy credit for and left him hanging for the rest.

Yeah, they wouldn't have honored that. But wow, if you'd gotten there with the other guy NOT around and they'd finished the paperwork, ttl and all that... WOWWOWOWOWOWOWOOOOOHOOOO!!!

I was extremely impressed with the power and smoothness of the new 1441 engine. That would've been a killer deal on that bike. Dealer would've lost their shorts on it, for sure, lol

That brake recall crap made me take a Ninja 1000 home. Must have been a set up by momma kaw to get us in the door. ;D

same here. I just came back from the dealer. He took 30 min. to do the brake recall and in the meantime I eyeballed a ZX14, a '12 black C14, a Kawasaki branded jacket and a Shoei helmet. When my self control was about to give up, he told me the bike was ready. Close call!!! ;D
