Adjusting C14 mirrors
« on: May 12, 2011, 05:11:17 AM »
Just picked my new 2011 up yesterday and was hoping to find some info on the forum....Surprise....GONE!

Anyway, the mirrors are either VERY stiff, or perhaps the bolts in the triangle pattern on the bottom need to be loosened to adjust the mirrors?  I tried pressing the mirrors inside the outer shell, but they weren't moving easily, so I figured I would ask, instead of using more force and risking damaging them.

I did look thoroughly through the owners manual, but no reference to the mirrors?

Thanks,
Peter

It has mirrors?  ;D

They are stiff. Try spraying some lube into the area behind the mirror and see what happens.

My 08 mirrors are stiff too.  They won't move after you set them.

I read on another forum sometimes they fly off if you hit a big bump or can get stolen if parked somewhere out of sight...  ;)

I had the same questions after I got my 2009.  I tried pushing on them but they wouldn't budge.  I was afraid to push too hard.

So I asked a buddy with a 2008.  He told me the mirrors were manually adjustable.  You just gotta push hard!

Now my mirrors are just right (well, except for those darn bags that I can't see around!)

I blame this on the wine, Bacardi, and alcoholic gummies........whoa here, I posted that earlier today so that's not it.  Must be something else.  So nevermind...

I have never heard of mirrors flying off a C-14 no matter how big a bump you hit....

Yes, but it will require a little fiddling around. And the fairing will have a gap in it near the mirror brackets when done. Unless you did some more fiddling around!
