Free Fuel control unit for 10-12 Concours in SoCal
« on: June 04, 2012, 03:20:57 PM »
Hey, my name is Jason and as I said in my intro thread I'm and R&D tech for Bazzaz. We need to bring in a 2010-12 Concours to develop a system on. So if you're in the SoCal area (we're in Chino Hills) and you can let us borrow your bike for a week or so, then we'll give it back to you with one of our Z-Fi fuel controllers installed with a custom map made for your bike. We would much prefer a bike that is completely stock, except for having a slip-on exhaust installed.

If you've got any more questions or if you're interested in the offer, shoot me an email: jason@bazzaz.net

I had a few minutes of spare time...and yes you're right.  Probably would have been best to give the website in the introduction.  But be that as it may, let's give him a listen and see what's up.

If BDF had a '10-12, he could be there in 50 hours

Sorry guys, I forget that once I get outside the sport bike scene no one knows who we are. You got it right, Bazzaz.net is our website. Bazzaz makes aftermarket fuel controllers with a digital interface, similar concept to Dynojet's Power Commander if you're familiar with those. We also have fuel controllers with quick shift and traction control options, as well as an auto mapper fuel mapper kit. Our systems go a little bit more in depth than Dynojet's; we tap into more sensor signals to get the most accurate information possible, and our software is a little more intuitive to use. For bikes that have eight injectors our systems controls all of them without the need for any additional modules. My personal experience with our fuel controllers and our competitions' is that ours yield a much smoother tune, because of our faster processing speed, and firmware design.

We will probably get to the older Concours eventually, but right now as we're breaking into the Sport Touring market we're focusing on the current models.

I have seen an add on Motorcyclist for Bazzaz traction control. Thought it was neat for motorcycles that did not have that option. I would not mind having one since my bike did not come with one (unlike the 2010 up models). But I am not too keen on doing all that work to hook one up.

Well it's not newer, lol... though they are newer than both my bikes (03 & 07) so I guess we'll just call them the previous generation.

Well, Jason.....if you wont support us  with the "older" bikes, I  think you want us to buy Power Commanders?  :'(

Just giving you a bad time.  Bazzaz traction control for our ancient 08's and 09's would be amazing.

Jason, what constitutes older/current in model years?

Bazzaz is very popular with many sport bike folks; fine reputation. Jason, it seems to me that the "previous" generation folks would be good market for your products, as there are lots of them and they don't have traction control, unlike the latest generation.

Look I totally agree with you that there is more of a market for the previous gen Concours, but I don't get to decide which bikes take priority. Which bikes are on our list to bring in, and how far up the list they are is a constant debate between my manager and I. The way my manager thinks is, until we have all the current models covered (bikes being produced in 2012 that could span back to previous years) we're not going to develop on any of the the previous generations of bikes. There are some exceptions; bikes that have a high request rate get added to the list whether they're current or not. This is why the 04-05 ZX10 is on our list, and some of the older Ducati models that are no longer being produced, like the 796, 998, 996, etc.
Now if you guys can show me some really good reasons why the 08-09 Concours should take priority over the 10-12 model then I'll take that info to my boss and try to get that model pushed through.

For Bazzaz to be offering this I'm surprised traffic in the area isn't halted from all the C14's lined up to go inside their shop bay.

If I was going west instead of north to Canada from FL, mine would be there in 3 weeks.

Yes sir, they're the ones who finally came to market with a better performance product than the all familiar Dynojet brand. Well known and established in the sportbike world.
