How did I bent the rims you asked!  I was cheap and have my technician (I work in the car business) dismount and mount new tires for me - I believed the tire machine was too strong (it was made for car rims, not motorcycle rims) and bent the rims while mounting the new tires.

What should I do besides buying new set of rims?  Please help.  Can't really afford rims right now.  Thanks.

Sure the balance is not off?  I over weighted both of mine and I could really feel it 30-50 and still into the 70's.

I am pretty sure its not over weighted, I double checked before I mount the tire back on the bike.

I have a back rim that got dinged up cosmetically by a tow truck driver.  It would be cheaper than having a rim repaired if you want it.

If the run-out is within spec, it's not bent.  I just had my front rim straighted after a nasty pot hole encounter.  That rim was BENT (pictures available) but it was rock solid at every speed between walking and stupid fast.  The rear rim is still slightly bent but there are no stability problems.  Both rims were able to be balanced.  How did you verify balance? 

Take your wheels down to a "motorcycle" shop that can do a high speed balance on "motorcycle" wheels to find out if they are indeed bent or just out of balance. If found to actually be bent do an Internet search as there are several shops that specialize in straighting up and fixing "motorcycle" wheels that most would have thought to be FUBAR......

If all else fails there are always rims on e-bay reasonable.

Don't take a chance with your life...replace with stock rims that balance and run true...and sleep well at night.

If there is no runout in either direction, it is hard to justify saying that the rims are bent.  IMHO, it is worth checking for cracks. 

It is possible for the runout to be within specs and still be unacceptable.  I had a front wheel on another bike that was within spec, but was awful.  Once it was replaced, the wobbles disappeared.

Have you read helmet safety articles?  There are helmets a lot less expensive than Arai that fair just as well in crash protection.  Now comfort while riding may be another issue for those with different shaped heads.  There is a difference between buying quality and status.  Just look at the Concours vs the BMW.

Heck, why not be real careful and buy a new bike every time it needs an oil change?  I seriously doubt that the rims are bent.  If they are, it is easy enough to measure.  When you hear hoofbeats, don't go looking for unicorns.  Check the runout.  Check the balance.  Check the rotors & the rotor mounting/buttons.  Pull the tire and check the tire.  Check the wheel balance w/ the tire off.

Of course, if you want to spend the money on new rims just to be safe w/o knowing what the problem is, you can do that, too/instead.
