Tire recommedations
« on: March 16, 2012, 01:57:00 PM »
Looking for tire recommedations for my 2010. I do mostly one up commuting and 2 up on the weekend with my wife. Tire wear seems really weird. Almost like the suspension is having issues. I'm replacing the stock Bridgestones BT021F's

Yep. Exactly what the worthless stock tires feel like as they turn from junk to utter crap. They'll have you getting paranoid about suspension settings, questioning your cornering technique, and basically losing confidence in the bike when cornering. Get rid of the treacherous doughnuts.

PR3's are good choices.

My favorites are the Pirelli Angel ST's. On my third set.

That is very debatable.

I went through 2 sets of Angels, I loved the performance but was not happy with the wear. They lasted about 4500 miles. I put on a set of PR2, so far so good, happy with them I hope I get more wear out of them. I am on my 4th set of tires in 16000 miles

OK...now you have made me curious...what is the handling difference between the 50 & 55

The 190/55 has quicker turn in and is approximately .3 inches taller. It corrects some of the factory speedo error and IMO feels more stable while leaned over in a turn.  I am on my fourth 55 and don't see myself going back to a 190/50.

There are quite a few threads that debate the pros and cons of them (I don't personally think there are any cons).
Keeping the economy going, one tank of fuel and two tires at a time.
