Anyone using a TPX laser jammer?

Its being stocked in motorcycle dealerships in Tampa and seems to be a big hit.  Our cops hide in the bushes with laser nowadays.

Anyone tried one?  Does it work well for you?

I realize some live in socialist states that don't allow such, I hope this thread doesn't spin into a legal debate but how the unit functions.

I have the TPX detector and like it.  I thought about the jammer, but it is very expensive.

Around here the jammer is around $467.  I'm think if it saves 2 tickets between fines and insurance increase its a huge bargain =)

You DO KNOW that these and all detectors ONLY work when the radar/laser is in armed mode,,,,,,,, if the cop is chilling and not pulling the radar trigger you dont know he's there, as soon as he pulls the trigger your detector goes nuts but he has YOUR SPEED.......... now he leaves it roam mode, yes you will pick up his signal way before his range..... and yes I'm talking from experience.
Radar is harder to prove in court UNLESS your the only vehicle, lazer is different, 100% accurate in everyway, apart from rain.

Kirby, I'm so happy you came along, we are all trusting that you can give the definative proof we are seeking in regards to Neutron Silver being the vastly quicker KIPASS equiped machine :hail:

I believe I've read somewhere that jammers don't really work all that well, and other places that claims that they do.

I know the OP wasn't all that interested in a legality discussion, but as of last September radar and laser jammers are illegal in Texas. Not just illegal to use, but illegal to even have on your vehicle (unless it was on your vehicle prior to some grandfathered-in date).

I've never used a jammer but I did almost get one a couple years back and was told that the jammer throws an error code to the LEO's gun, which then alerts you that you've been tagged (attempted) and at that point you need to slow down fast and turn off the jammer so that when they restet and hit you again they get a slower (hopefully within speed limit) reading?? Not sure if this is totally true but is what I was told, if true this might be challenging on a bike with gloves on in that situation to turn it off in time for round 2...  ??? :-\

Another not sure if it's true things but I have heard that the jammers really mess with airports and that it is a federal offense.  Don't/wouldn't take the chance anywhere near an airport.  Personally, I would spend the $$ on a new exhaust ;D

That's why the TPX unit is good - turns the jammer off after 7 seconds. I think it should probably turn it off faster. 7 seconds is long enough to get hit twice. But if you hide it in your fairing, the cop may think it was really a bad reading if he did stop you.

I do not believe a laser jammer could affect anything at an airport since they do not use laser, they use radar. A radar jammer possibly, but not a laser jammer. I would also find it hard to believe a radar jammer designed to affect police radar could have any affect on airport radar since they are on completely different frequencies. If the jammer could affect airport radar, then the police radar itself would affect airport radar.
