I thought that your back hurts before you even get started?
That is something of a miss- statement: fobs do not contain an immobilizer function, that is in the bike. The fobs simply allow an override of the immobilizer function.
The way the credit card works is that the ignition switch housing interrogates the card and if the card has the proper code, it unlocks the bike. The thicker fob is different in that it can actually produce radio waves and communicate with the bike from several feet away. The credit card fob has to be close to that housing to work- something like less than one inch away. The credit card fob is less expensive to purchase and that is why Kawasaki started using them on later models.

And here I was going to say it was magic...I've got to be quicker.
Called my dealer and they are calling Kawasaki. Seem no one there has heard anything about it before me. The technicians or someone must be throwing them away. I wonder how many C14s they have sold without the cards.

I spoke with a fella named Dan and he said to come in with my other fob so they know which card to order. He still thinks all it contains is a spare key and will not do anything else. He asked when I get it in to get with him and show him what it is supposed to do. Ridenow in Ocala, Fl. is not a small dealership. They are being polite and helpful about the situation, so I have not any complaints. I just have to get down there. Right now I am waiting on Ryan to call me so I can order a set of crashbars on the group buy. Probably will be tomorrow before I get down there. I will post my results.

I know that some people are literarily challenged but does nobody on here READ THE OWNERS MANUAL?
It's all in there in black on white. Admittedly some of it is a bit Jap-lish but its pretty good mostly.
Take some time to read it and you'll be amazed at what you may learn about the object you just paid $$$$ for.
I can't speak for the others Boomer, but I read it twice.
