I went to a hypnotist... He had me visualize sitting on the bike, parking it, taking my gear off... Now he said, in your minds eye... As you walk away from the bike, turn and look at it.. Did you remember to turn off the key?? Hasn't happened again...
One can't forget to "turn off the key" on the Concours, because that is the proper way to stop the bike from running- you turn off the ignition.... otherwise it would still be running! When you walk away from it (with your fob) it is "locked".
I *have* had to turn the ignition back on to get something out of the glovebox, but the moment I open it, I turn off the ignition again. I think I am too OCD to ever forget to do something like that
Precisely why I got into the habit of turning off my bikes with the key, not the cut off switch.
I was trained that the handlebar "kill" switch is an emergency cut-off switch. I have never used it on any bike (since I have never had an emergency need to cut off the bike).
+1. I never use mine and only use others when I want a laugh.
I use the kill switch when getting gas, otherwise I have to turn my radar detector back on when I start the bike back up, I'm just lazy I guess...
That is interesting. However, I assume if you use the kill switch, all the lights (including both headlights) will remain "on" the entire time, sucking lots of battery. Maybe it won't normally matter, but I worry about such things
Oh Max, I worry about you bro... How long does it take you to pump gas? Do you really think 2 minutes with your lights on will cost you battery life??
Snap out of it bro, I need to get you out for a beer, you worry too much man...
Sometimes it takes far too long
If I told you have I never consumed alcohol before, you would probably think I was even more hopeless... so I won't tell you
I do tend to worry a lot. Throw in over-analyzing and some OCD, and you got me pegged!
