Saw my first ZL1000

I had never seen one of these bikes until today 1988 vintage....thought someone had taken a C10 and made it into a cruiser complete with a 15" rear tire.
One of those WTF moments. Looked a little rough and I didn't get a chance to ask about it from the shop owner.
Anyone ever ridden one?

Thought they were 900's, using the Ninja 900 motor. I want to say there was also a 600? I remember them coming out, never rode one.

M.O.B. that is what I was looking at .....the rear tire looked like it was ready to pop off the rim....have to take a set of barrels out to the shop to be rebored and will ask about the bike then.
They do look pretty when they are cleaned up.

They came with a 160. That was BIG back then. Some have put wider, but rather limited by the rim width.
The Mean Streak wheel fits, but the low profile tires somehow don't look right.
