How-to here.

I had dreamed of putting one of these off the port on my sub-box in the Dub. But somehow it never made it to the top of the priority list.

Looks like the board is the 2d version.
I wonder what would happen if one were to mount the speaker in the center on the bottom rather than on one side?

I don't think that mounting in the center would make much, if any, difference. It's the pressure waves that cause the flames to 'dance'.
