Need a custom rack? For Corbin Smuggler or to mount a Givi farther back?

I'm modifying a couple racks to sit 3/8" farther to the rear than my production rack. This allows a Corbin smuggler to clear the rack and also permits a trunk to be mounted with the smuggler.  Also, if you have a trunk mounted but would like it moved to the rear 3/8" this is the ticket. There is an additional cost and I only have one more.   This requires machined plugs of the same grade aluminum, press fit in the mounting holes, TIG welded both sides, machined flush and then re-drilled & counterbored before powdercoating.

This is an excellent mod to have done if you have the Corbin smuggler, I totally recommend it.  :thumbs:

That looks great! Boy to be rich. I want both. This is the second time I had to drill out bolts and remount my Sears trunk. I love your racks. It saves tons of work. I have looked for used Philsracks and haven't seen any. Can't wait to see the pictures of your bike (ZG) with both trunks.

Here you go SF, got home late tonight and it's dark so all you get for now are some garage shots.

That looks great! I must admit I'm a little jealous over here. I never have enough room for my stuff. When did you say you were getting a new bike and selling the old used up one? LOL.

Getting ready to order a smuggler and I want a Givi 55 trunk. Will not likely run them at the same time, But I have heard a farther rear mount is needed for the 55 any thoughts. Not sure 3/8 inch back will be far enough? Don't know if your competitor's rack (PCA) mounts farther back. Don't really have the equipment to make my own as others have done...

There are lots of guys who have used the 55 on my rack. I suspect they make all sizes so the front edge is approximately on the same plane.?
I don't think, don't really know, if the smuggler would work with a trunk at the same time.

Not really going to use both at the same time but would like to leave rack on with smuggler and know if I will have enough passenger room or if your rack will mount the case too far forward.
