I'm finding these bolts just a little hard to come by. Hardware stores only have 1.5 pitch ,Mcmaster-Carr has them but in a package of 25. Any ideas on where to by these oddball cap screws?
Try your local Fastenal. I buy all of my cam chain tensioner bolts (M8-1.25 full threaded) from Fastenal, they are sold by the piece. Fastenal is oriented toward wholesale and contractor, but I think you can get the bolts needed. A lot of the stuff is packaged, but per my experience the bolts like you are talking about are not. I can buy 4 or 40 or 400.
If it is really a problem, contact me. I can probably buy and mail them to you by standard mail at about a buck to a buck and a half for the postage. I also get a break on price since I buy so much and it woulld only cost you what I have to pay. It isn't about making a buck for this, I'd be glad to help. Let me know the sizes and specifics. I can see what I can do if you wish. You should be able to email or PM me from here.
I did some research and know Fastenal carries an M10-1.25 x 20mm zinc coated socket head cap screw (3mm longer than Kawasaki calls for with their M10-17mm) that is $4.09 on their site. I called for a quote and I can pick one up for $2.50. If you needed a few, I could help out, but after postage you'd be near the $4.09 listed by Fastenal. That fine thread is expensive.
I'd verify the thread pitch by pulling it out and measuring it since there is no thread pitch called out on the parts list and pray that it is a standard pitch M10-1.5 x 16mm which is like 58 cents in an 8.8 grade zinc coated socket head cap screw.
