Attention lurkers who are looking to buy a Concours
« on: July 17, 2011, 04:29:49 PM »
My 2011 is awesome. 3600 miles in two months. Fires right up. Averages 44.2 MPG (according to the puter) with "spirited riding".  Runs like a raped ape. Gives me thrills at every curve followed by exhilarating straights. Gets complements at every stop. Kipass works great. No heat from the bike in 100+ weather. Bags have not fallen off. No rear drive noise. Good times!

At 3600 miles I'd hope there were no problems.  :o

If you ride a C14 in the rain, and there is dirt on the road, it gets all muddy looking. I'm not sure if this happens to other motocycles, but, the C14 seems pretty susceptible to getting dirty.

True, but the most annoying thing I've noticed is that riding it seems to use fuel to the point that I have to keep putting more in. I told my service guy about it and I had read on the internet that it was a known problem.  He said he'd never heard of it and told me not to believe everything I read on forums.

+1 I just returned home from 3 weeks and 8000 miles on the road.  My bike has the same problem.  About 4 times a day, I had to stop and put fuel in the tank.  I also seem to collect a lot of bugs on the wind screen and front of the bike.  Any one else have this 'problem'?

Seriously, my bike performed perfectly on this trip.  Even though it was WAY overloaded, even though I forced it to endure 500-600 mile days in 100 degree temps, it kept going.  I have 23,000 miles on it and no complaints at all.

I just noticed this "issue" on my way to work this morning. It looks like a killing field on the windscreen. I'll bet the dealer will just say that "they all do that".

Yeah, and evil Kawasaki won't even take care of it under warranty.

No, that's probably the one thing they will take care of under warranty without a fight. Unless your Brian of course. They always take care of anything for Brian. I guess the perks of the job!!!!!  ;D

I flew in from out of state to get my '11 and the glove box was broken. I guess I could said "F it, I am not buying it!", but I managed to get the bike home and the local dealer ordered the parts and fixed it.
I have put on 3600 trouble  free miles on it since late march, no problems. I just got back from trip in CA, went to Monterey, took highway 1 to Pismo, great bike. Oh, according to the computer, got 48 mpg.

Are you riding with any bar risers or is it stock?
