It will also very much depend on humidity level and if you are moving or stuck in traffic/lights.  Where I live, it is often VERY humid, which just makes higher temps unbearable.  When the humidity is lower and I can keep moving, higher temps are doable.  For example, here, right now it is 88F with 70% relative humidity, so that feels pretty bad.

I, too, always wear all the proper/full gear (well, except not pants- those are just jeans in the Summer so not that much protection there; however, I do wear heavy leather chaps over them in the late Fall, Winter, and early Spring ).

It is the pant that tend to really help. I ride with motorcycle pants and boots and don't have an issue with the 2009. I just bought new boots and I feel heat a bit more, both on my C14 and Ural, but not bad. I believe the leather is thinner on the new boots. They are TCX boots with Goretex as were the old ones.

Dunno how bad the first gen is, but the second gen in 110* isn't fun either. I think I'm getting too old to ride over 105*.

It is rare that it gets that hot over here and I wouldn't have been riding in that heat but we were halfway home from the GCE Austria Rally and had a train to catch across the English Channel, so needs must. Whilst it was hot and unpleasant I coped with it and the bike coped well. 2400 miles in 13 days, and we stayed away from motorways/freeways for the most part. 430 miles of that was on French and Belgian motorways and 40 miles on Austrian motorways. Was a fun vacation.
