Road Gear tire pressure guage
« on: April 04, 2017, 08:47:11 AM »
I really loved this digital gauge, it gave spoken PSI readings as well as an LCD readout but sadly it is ruined. After using it to check my bicycle tires which use 80+psi it stopped working and I notice some clear oily liquid in the battery compartment. I am guessing it was not intended for that much pressure.

Happens every time. Ordered a replacement, actually a dial gauge, this time. Found one with a right angle chuck. But naturally, soon as I clicked "Submit Order" I slipped the 2032 battery back into the Road Gear, to try it one more time before I threw it away, and it came back to life! I had sprayed the batt compartment with SuperTech Carburetor Cleaner to dry it out (Sames stuff I used on my stuck KIPASS!)
This stuff works wonders. But don't try it at home. I've been tod it may be bad for plastics ???
