Tyre pressure sensor question.
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:11:20 AM »
Greetings from Russia!
I have an old C14 (2009 year) USA market, and I am a big fan of it.
Its the second bike of this model I have (the previous one was rammed to junk by an idiot, while I was standing at the traffic light).
Now the problem: my rear tyre pressure sensor is dead (not the battery, the sensor itself). The tps has a green dot on it (315MHZ). I have ordered a new one(the old type has been discontinued, but they are compatible, as far as I know), however the official kawi dealer doesn't know how to flush the ecu to register a new tps. There are really few concourses here in Russia, so nobody gives a ...
(and for some reason russians are kawasaki-haters). Yet the dealer does have a KDS3. So. The question is which of the marks on the sensor is the id, that has to be flushed into the ecu? The sensor label looks like this.

So the correct sensor ID to be flushed into the ECU will be:

1) MRXKAW4
2) 2546A-KAW4
3) 2546A

Thank you in advance, Taras.

The answer should be in the service manual for the 2010+ concours\GTR.
I regret, I don't have one.

If it hasn't been answered by then, I'll look when I get home in about 8 hours.

The ID in question is NOT the FCC ID# but a 8 HEX DIGIT ID that is printed on Kawasaki C14 TPMS modules.  Hex is base-15 and uses 0-9 and A-F so an example might be: 0C233Eb3 (Not sure why they use b vs. B but the result is the same).  It must be 8 digits and it will be HEX.  The FCC ID is neither and is not what you want.

The image you show doesn't seem to have a suitable number which leads me to believe it's not the right type of sensor.  If there is another number printed elsewhere that may be it.

Looks like new sensors are going with the ID printed on paper, not the sensor itself. Thanks a lot.
Will be back when i get my hands on it.

not positive, but I believe the new ones come with the I.d. on the package, or on paper in package... hope you retained those....

as for programming, the KDS unit comes with an instructional booklet on a cd, the tech will need to bring that up to understand the programming sequence...

I see in the KDS manual in the link posted earlier the ID needed  is  8 or more characters.
 The 315  frequency is correct.
The ID number will never have a character higher than F so none of those numbers in the picture will work.
