So if you avail yourself of the warranty now, you will be in for an expensive change next time. The batteries in the old-style are easy to change. Or if you was inept at soldering, there are others who will do it for a small fee. I'd stick with the old-style and leave yourself the option of just changing the batteries when needed.
They should be but if they do replace them, you'll get the newer ones which don't allow a manual battery change.
depends... I had mine covered in fall of 2012, and they installed the older style.... not sure what's gonna be installed today, might want to check with the dealer yo plan on using, have them run the paperwork, and tell you the part numbers that Kaw is saying they will send them, they will have it on the inquiry before they put the request thru...
Thanks to all for the quick responses. I have worked on electronics for over 30 years so replacing them is no problem. Since I am trying to sell I just wanted to know for the possible next owner's benefit. Thanks again. This is a great board! Jack
