2010 mirrors on an 2008?
« on: June 18, 2011, 08:19:12 AM »
Not sure if this has been covered before, but has anyone successfully installed 2010 mirrors on an 08? If you have do you have any pictures?

Thanks,
Al

Fred H has some pics here, but I think they were taken for comparison purposes, not a refit.

I have mirror risers in 45mm, 55mm, and 65mm heights if you would like better rearview vision and some hand protection.  $65 shipped to continental U.S.A.

Here's a pic of my bike w/ 55's installed.

Just ordered a set myself from lt1. Can't wait to put them on. Those bags creates a bad bad blind spot on the 08 mirrors.

IIRC, Fred's trial of the 2010 mirrors on the 08 did fit. But it might have required as slight modification of the 08-09 fairing. And there would be a slight gap where the mirror backet ended and the fairing bagan towards the rider compartment. But I'm sure something could be done to cover the gap!

These are made for the 1500 & 1800 Gold Wing but I think they would probably work on the concours1400, they attach to the bottom of the Gold Wing mirrors bit I don't see why they wouldn't attach to the top of the mirrors on the connie?

I just turn my head before changing lanes; I never rely on mirrors...

Try ridding a Harley with some slim teardrops. You'll appreciate the C14 mirrors a lot more afterwards.

No, but the people in the pic have not given permission to have their images published.

Here is a pic of the 65mm & 55mm risers alone.

I also include the appropriate bolts & washers (not shown).
Installation is pretty simple - remove the 3 torx bolts on each mirror, insert the riser, install the 3 socket head (allen) bolts.  It helps if you have an assistant, but is still pretty easy alone.

The black finish is baked on, and is pretty tough, much more scratch & wear resistant than paint.

Might have to hit you up for a set of those LT1, but want to wait and see how lowering the rear is going to affect the view since that will put the bags lower and require me to adjust angle of the mirrors higher in their housings.

LT1--Do you think we could get a better picture of the risers mounted on the bike? I just couldn't tell that much from the picture you originally posted. Thanks!
