Hey Hey Hey..........I resemble that remark :shoot: :shoot:

So it still has no front brakes....at least it runs! Last time I started it anyway.

You might try hanging a donation cup from the bars and getting yourself an organ grinder...........  ;D

It's a long story  :battle: but I think I will have massive progress this week  Besides, traffic in my garage is really low, so donations would be pretty slack. Turns out a guy I grew up with works for a big machine shop. He is gonna get er done for me so I can finally get out and try the 4 pot 320mm upgrade that has been in "progress" since last winter. It's a good thing I have more than one bike to ride!

.... A simple & cheap but effective deterrent. ....

Merely expressing the desire to get a new C14 has been very effective for me.

UUhhhhh, isn't that a disc lock?

http://www.kryptonitelock.com/Products/List.aspx?cid=1000&scid=1003

A bike I acquired (not the C10) had a front disc brake on it when I got it, and was somewhere I couldn't work on it, me and a buddy slid her up a ramp into my truck, got her home to my garage, 2min and a grinder later and the lock was gone... Most of the theft deterrents are just that, they are designed to keep honest people honest and give the owner a sense of security....

Almost any cable or chain lock can be cut with a big enough bolt cutter.

An alarm only scares away joy riders.

Good thing the C-10 isn't a Harley or sport bike, huh.

A friend had a Greeves 350cc scrambler. He used to leave the keys in the ignition and was convinced one day he'd come out and find a thief lying next to the bike with a shattered shinbone.
The bike was a BEYOTCH to start. If ya didn't have the throttle, ignition advance and decompressor set just right it would throw ya over the bars.  :o

I always park my C10 next to a newer, prettier bike.
Best anti-theft method there is. ;)

This is pretty-much why I never worry about taking the key out of my BRP '83 XL600R Honda thumper when I'm at The Home Depot or Lowe's or anyplace quick...hell with it! If they can start it, they can have it! Gotta know the bike intimately to fire it up, or chances are good you're gonna get hurt!
