Has anybody else put Ohlins forks on a Gen 2 Connie?

If so which ABS sensor did you buy or did you fabricate something to make the existing one work?

It looks to be made for a Gen 1 Connie. Maybe you can have it replaced or use a Gen 1 sensor on your Gen 2 bike?

That is my plan right now is to replace the sensor. I need to know if the Gen 1 sensor works with a Gen 2 bike or if the ZX14R sensor would work with the Connie.

I do not know the answer with certainty but....

It sure looks like there are only two choices there, and the one that you need is the two flange type to fit the hole. As far as the electrical side, they are a two- wire sensor that I believe is a simple inductive type. So even if the connectors are not compatible with your bike, you should be able to use the connectors from your original sensors and splice them to the new, two- bolt sensors and it will work.

As a suggestion, you could always ask at your local dealer and see if any of the tech.'s there know if both sensor types have the same connector- if you, just grab the two- bolt sensor and you are done.

I guess the answer is NO , no one but your buddy who doesn't ride his ride would waste that kind of money to have GOLD forks, In the winter I'm going up to Traxxion in Ga. to have them install their AK 20 cartridge  & Penske rear shock and let them install the right springs and set up.
The only thing superior about the first Gen bikes is the heat they feed the driver, when I installed the ZX headers I wrapped them to keep the gas tank COOL ... It worked.

I think I am going to buy a 2012 ZX14R sensor and hope it works. Report is forthcoming.

I always meant to ask you how they perform and what's the difference with the OEMs. A write up, maybe?

The plugs are completely different. There is going to be no way to push the pins out. It looks like soldering is my only choice. I am worried though if I cut off my OEM plug if the thing will even work properly. What do you guys think? If I cut the wire and make my own can I still ride the bike with this warning on the display?

I'd cut and solder, but that's me. It's your bike so you'll need to do what you feel comfortable doing.

As far as the ABS Warning, I'd say yes, you can ride, but you will not have ABS. Again, it will still be your choice to do so or not.

Now back to the sensors..... can you give us a better shot of what the pins look like? If so, we may be able to tell you how to remove them or someone may be able to make or get you the parts to make a short adapter harness.

I cannot tell what the wire colors are in one of the photos; do both sensors use black and white wires? If so, a cut, splice and shrink tubing cover will last two lifetimes.
