Martin, good point. Forgot about the 021 Crapstones. Make sure you throw them in the dumpster a.s.a.p. They are downright dangerous and start cupping at 1500 miles. I almost sold my C-14 until someone on this forum recommended Michelin PR-2's with 55 aspect rear tire. Now Connie can play with the Porsches.

Oh man. I have been out of the bike science for about 4 years to keep up on tires.

Whats going on with stock tires? Fill me in please.

They are good enough to get a bike out the door.... I didn't mind them at first, but the bike was new.  They wore ( fast) the front cupped well before the back wore out.  At 5750 miles I put on PR 4 GT's.  It is like a whole new machine!  Better than ever.

Got ya.

Machine is only week old. I put 290 miles in one week so far. I will keep an eye out for the wear on the tires and next one will be PR4 for sure.

Today I took seat off and it will go to Seth Laam tomorrow so no riding for at least 1 week  :(

Yep, we all seem to have the same issues and strange wear on the stock/OEM tires.  My front was horribly cupped on both sides and riding it was just a major chore.  The back had a flat spot but still enough tread it could pass.  PR4 GT is just so much better... and if they wear like the PR3/2, then they will fare much better than the OEM.
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

same here. I used 3 sets of OEM stones until the German TÜV approved the Pirelli Angel ST. Major improvement, much less cupping.
I also improved my riding style (aka, the technique I use to take curves) and avoid braking late in the curve with the front (I know...  ::)).
This has been about 7 rear and 4 front tires ago, and I forgot how bad cupping affects the steering. I friend of mine bought a second hand Bandit 600 and the front tire has been very abused, with even stronger cupping than what I've experienced in my C14. That bike was un-ridable. Now he got new tires and all is good  8)
