When I was a Child I listened to the Beatles.  When I matured I moved on to more complex progressive rock and jazz and left the bubble gum music behind.  I'm not saying they don't have a few good songs, but I do wonder how many are actually original and not stolen from the Black Man's Music. 

I did watch a rerun of the show to have some music in the background, and was amazed that Katy Perry even knows who the Beatles are.  She wasn't even showing cleavage which is the first time for her. 

I have most of the top 1000 Classic Rock songs on my iPod.  No beatles or Elton john on there though.

I find it hard to believe 50 years have gone by... But this music is timeless.

Stolen from the Black Man's music? Say what? I think that you mean influenced by the Black Man's music don't you?    How many bands can say that? I'd say nearly all of them to some extent.

Not only did many of the British groups listen to black music which was widely played over there at the time, quite a few of their songs were covers of the songs originally done by black artists.

It's amazing how much the media hypes something and people eatit up.

I think what they meant was that this was something entirely new and that bands like the Beach Boys and The Everly Brothers were marginalized that night when the rest of America was introduced to something they've never seen before. This was the face of music to come.

It sure put Elvis out of a job, along with all the other 50's guys like Bobby Darin and the ilk.
