So, I am one of the lucky test mules for the as of yet un released Rekluse clutch for the F800GS. NDA signed, details hush hush, but I can say it works, and well. I am uploading a vid onto Youtube, once it is done I will share. If my 4000 mile March AZ and UTBDR (Back Country Discovery Routes) don't break it, I will be running it in the Desert 100 in April. If it holds up to this kind of abuse I see it being released shortly thereafter (assumption not based on fact).
Notes to consider, my F8GS is about at the top of the food chain in regards to power output, free flowing headers and an Akro can coupled with a PCV. I ride mildly aggressive on the trail with a kit of about 125 pounds, run Pirelli Scorpion Rallys, front is a full on knobby, back is a desert inspired knobby. I will be running this harder than I would normally ride to see if I can break it.

A Rekluse is similar in nature to a centrifugal clutch, eliminates stalling in the slow technical stuff. No value street wise for a healthy, capable rider, but could help someone who has left hand strength issues. A good example I will offer, Ophir Pass in Colorado on the F8GS, fully loaded, gnarly long uphill climb with softball to babyhead (nickname) oddly shaped rocks littering the trail, which is on the edge of a LONG slope, fairly steep slope I may add, that goes a long way down. Constant feathering of the clutch to maintain traction combined with the steep upward angle will leave you with a cramped hand. The Rekluse does this for you. For me, it is these kind of conditions that has me excited. It will also be an added benefit for the Desert 100 race I will be riding the F8 in. Do a Youtube search on D100, last year 4 650+ sized bikes started, 3 finished. Folks think we are total fools (they may be right) as this race is for "real" dirt bikes

A rekluse on the F800gs makes it the perfect commuter-bike
I have had a rekluse clutch on my Yamaha WR250 since 2006 and its almost like cheating in the woods. Best upgrade ever.

Too busy on the beach?
Got to do some stop and go I5 traffic in pouring, torrential type rain. Bonus I had not really considered. I would go to grab the lever, and wham, why? For commuters this will be a great bonus.

I want one, but for what I do and my skill level I keep telling myself I can't justify the cost yet. Maybe my clutch will fry and I'll have some justification =)

Uh, get one. It will help beyond words...Clutch is still useable, it isn't gone. Sure wish you were closer, do some tight single track and you would be sold.

When I get past noob skill level or ride someone's bike soon that has one I'm sure I'll have to take the plunge =)

Stoked to hear that someone actually has one of these for an F800GS. I'm very interested to hear your feedback on it. I just burned my stock one out after several years of very aggressive off-roading and am hoping to replace it with a rekluse.

Quite soon is my guess on the unit. If you can, hold off on new fibers. As soon as I get more info to share I will. I am abusing this as much as possible and it works!!
