it got more weird than it had to with the girl in the cellar
Haven't read the book. Wife & I watched the first one. Not TOO bad, but as with most shows like this, it got more weird than it had to with the girl in the cellar and a couple of other things. Reminded me of a book called "1632" and it's sequels about a small town in W.Va that gets scooped up and deposited out of this time into the year 1632 in the middle of Europe.
If you can stomach the concept, it's interesting to watch 21st century Americans gear down to a sustainable technology level of muskets, steam tractors/trucks and hydro powered factories which are still miles ahead of blunderbusses and horses.
"Is keeping yer loved one locked in a cellar frowned upon these days?"
Now you tell me?
I've got no room in the basement archives to hold anyone prisoner except myself and a cup of tea.
Aren't we all prisoners of something?
As interesting as to whom is keeping whom or what locked in their basements is , I have a question
for those that are watching and those that read the book (I haven't done the reading), well two questions
really. 1. At what point does(the book)/will (TV show) food rationing become a consideration. 2.In that scene where
the outsiders/troops are spraying water on the outside of the dome and an insider put their hand on the shield, was
their hand wet when they removed it, is the dome water permeable?
