Doug, that's why I have 2 Connies. I ride one while the other gets worked on. The 2000 is being ridden while the '90 is getting 17 inch wheels, zx9/zx7 inverted forks, zzr1200 rear shock, 1052 engine upgrade, EVENTUALLY Steve's cams and MAYBE 7th gear. Also, as Steve did, I am trying to figure out how to adapt the ZRX type handle bar mounting system to the bike to reduce the buzzzzzzzz.
Morning Woody. I've tried to sell the Two Bike Concept to my wife...................let's just say, it's a good thing I'm not in sales
. My ideal garage (at this point in my life) would consist of a Touring machine...ie the Connie and a local Commuter........like a Versys. But that's just a dream. I love my Connie but it's a little big for my short 5 mile commute to work and back. I sold my ZRX
in order to buy the Connie for Touring. As life is playing out, that aspect of riding has a very dim furture. Our 13 year old daughter is a special needs child and it's getting very hard to just pack up and take off for a week of riding leaving my wife alone to the needs of taking care of Kate Bug.........(that's her Nickname
) as she gets older. I have Grandkids in KC and Colorado and I was going to ride the Connie out this summer for a visit. But, the family schedule and time are leaning to just driving the van
. Also my wife is in the Military and she has just been tasked with a deployment which will wipe out next riding season (I'm not bitching, just laying out where I am).
I may look into trading the Connie stright upfor another ZRX. Or, sell it outright and pick up a Versys or a new Tiger 1050. Guess I'm just comming to a crossroad and weighing my limited options.
