Sure glad I haven't needed any warranty work done, and it would be very rare that I would need a dealer for work done on my bikes. Have a friend that is real handy with all things 2 wheels, he has quite the little side business going on.

They actually do have pretty good and consistent service departments, pretty much nationwide. Their mechanics are certified and most are older and have been doing it for quite some time, unlike many of the punks with zero work ethic that come and go at the Japanese dealerships. Harleys are very fine machines for what they are, they just get a bad rep because of many owners.

Too loud and too slow. Some of them look nice though. Maybe a Triumph.

I like the Vrod and the Triumph Thunderbird, those bad boys are not tame by any means.

Maybe the Triumph Trophy or Explorer. I like the care free shaft drives. Hopefully the C-14 will start behaving nicer.

Compared to a modern inline four, they are ultra-low tech.  If I wanted to ride a lawnmower, I could take two wheels off my John Deere.  :)
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

I love my Triumph Tiger 750, it's 35 years old but the brakes are responsive and it stops quick with quad piston calipers, handling is excellent, the only problems are range and acceleration, range is about 105 miles and acceleration wasn't even good back when it was new.. oh, and as my friend says "it sounds like a chainsaw in heat"

Super Tenre would be great. I don't know how the twin would do with all the high speed highway miles I ride.

That is a powerful and pretty darn fast 1200cc parallel twin, it would cruise at 100 mph all day and beg for more. Have a few friends that have them, they are just blown away with their performance and refinement.

A little resurrection!!!
My 2011 has gone through hell in 15,000 miles.
New rotors at 5000+ miles. And rear brake issues.
New rotors at 7500+ miles.
New rotors at 13,000+miles.
New front rim, bearings, EBC rotors and pads 14,800 miles.

Yes. I think there is something big still wrong with this bike. Rotors always start warping at 1200 miles. This time they went long and changed the rim and bearings too. The Kawi Service Rep did all the work on it this time too.
I have put about 400 miles on it since the change. I'll be doing about 200 miles per day, so I'll know how it is sooner than later.

Sure it ain't the rider?  ::)   While brakes have been a bit touchy for some, most aren't having the issues that you are... ;)

I THINK a lot of the brake issues are dirty calipers.  These bikes get some serious mileage put on them. Even after  a thousand miles, mine had a serious dusting inside.  I'd imagine a dragging pad would create some serious heat.

I also wondered abotu washing. It cant be good to shoot cold water on a hot rotor, right?

On the other hand, I'll offer a "shut-up". If you compare the brakes on thsi bike to what the 2011-2013 Ninja 1000 came with, these are night and day better.  More power, feel, everything. I had to upgrade my Ninja because switching between bikes, and brakes, was difficult. The Ninja felt Flinstone style in comparison.

The water shouldn't be an issue. The rotors need to be able to function without warping in the rain, so washing shouldn't hurt them, if it does, they aren't designed well.
