I had been thinking that it would make it was easier and give me a much more accurate and consistent reading when performing the liquid fuel level check on the float bowls if I had something to hold the tubing in a consistent and stable way. So I came up with this simple guide for the plastic tubing that attaches to the carbs using one of the float bowls mounting screws, and the top of the guide is exactly at the parting line of the float bowl and the carb body.

This allows for the tubing to be bent in a nice radius and helps to keep the tubing stable and makes it very easy to slowly lower the tubing when performing the fuel level check. so tomorrow I am going to check the fuel level in the floats bowls, and then I can get the carbs installed back on the bike.  :)

Nice!  Are the bowls cast flat enough that it is a consistant measurement?  Or are they machined?  I can't remember.

I checked the corner of each bowl with my micrometer and they are even and the two surfaces nice and parallel, but I am going to compare the reading using this against just holding the tubing right up against the carb.  :)

Either way, I'm pretty sure it will be more accurately set than necessary

I usually don't have time to do it right so I do it twice.

Love the tube holder.  Do you leave it on one carb and just move the hose from carb to carb as long as the rack is level?

Yeah, fully appreciate all that. Perfectionism - can be frustrating at times though.

Nice job on the fluid level bracket/guide. Simple and effective.

Methinks you have some nice tools/toys in your shed to play with.

No, I'll move it to the same corner on all the carbs.
