Why not buy a used k1600gt?  Has to be considerably cheaper than new off the showroom floor.

I am fascinated by your wayward proclivity to get so butt hurt by three little letters.

Go back and read the OP's opening post where he talks about liking his previous RT's with the exception to finding the twin to be boring. While your at it, you might read my replies telling him my experience riding the new FJR, and how I personally felt the C14 is the better of the two. Suggesting a look at a used K13 which is in the price range of a new C14, and comes with some of the features he seemed to want is no stretch or propaganda.

I also gave him my 2 cents on him considering a farkled 09 C14 and how the modifications I have made to my C14 have improved it's long distance ability.

I think the better suggestion would be to conduct an intervention to help YOU find the IGNORE button.

On my way to Alaska from San Diego, I rode from Banff, Alberta Canada to Dawson Creek BC.  Though the distance was slightly over 500 miles on secondary roads (not freeway, some sections under construction), I did it in 9 hours ride time.  It was definitely tiring but not to the point of exhaustion.  Now I supposed if it was the freeway, lets say I-5, from San Diego to central Oregon, 800 miles  will be easily attainable.   Since I raised the handlebar 3/4" (Murphs), and had gel inserts on the stock seat, 9-10 hour rides were not a problem at all.

Thank you, that helps alot. I have already purchased a 2010 and rode it home 230mile on the first night. For me  a new seat, peg lowering kit, risers,wedges,and the other little ofset things along with cruise control are all a must. I have a saddleman saddle coming and I am really hoping this will help me get the bike set up. my goal is to turn this into a reasonably priced K16000ish bike for touing. I just got my peg lowering kit installed from an inmate, and think the difference they made is worth fourt times the price I paid. I am hoping the seat will do the same becuase the current seat is not good for me at all.

I sometimes do 1100 miles days, and 700 mile days 2-up, with stock seat and pegs. No risers.  Throttlemeister throttle lock I installed, but i mainly enjoy that for the massive bar end weights.
