... however I do enjoy the pre planning for a long ride, then putting the plan into action with a successful out come. The post ride analysis is sort of like re living the ride, putting all the photos together and sorting the stats etc.
I do that too, it's fun. I spent weeks planning my 6500 mile trip, all the places I wanted to go, laid out the route every day, saw all the places and people I wanted to see. Each night I would record my total mileage for the day and the things I did, saw and what happened, good and bad. I still go back and read it and relive, it's like I am there again.Toward the end, I got tired and blazed home, 1090 one day and 890 the next (from Barstow CA to Peoria IL). Then spent a ton of time going over the pictures, making a Flickr page with the pictures and notes, etc.
