We used to fly over to the Big Island for vacation... seemed silly at the time.  8)  I'm tired of the snow right about now... could use some shave ice, a manapua or two, and some tasty waves.   8)

Stationed at Kunia for two years, working the mid shift.  We'd get off work in the morning, run down to the beach, get hammered and hit Zippy's for saimin on the way back to base.  Even caught a Frank De Lima show, once.

Except for being trapped on a rock, had a great time...

My Dad was @ Kunia from 74-77... we lived up the road on Wheeler, Camp Stover.  I got to take a tour there... got out of school, that's all I cared about.  8)  Got to see the Christmas Tree... mainframes... walked the tunnel... pretty cool.

I left in '88.  But I bet we had the same carpeting, sat at the same desks, and used the same coffee pot that your dad did.   :)

Cool.

My wife and I were married in Kailua-Kona, and have only made it back once since.  Given the weather this winter, it's very tempting to head back!!

Gratz on the new ride!

Glad to hear you guys had a good time while you were here.
I'm working on pics, but I've been laid up this week with a cold.
They're coming....soon.

I bet you did! I was there six months ago and it still has the same carpet!
