Genuine Kawasaki engine protectors
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:48:40 AM »
Anyone fitted a pair of the OEM fairing protectors?

Was wondering if they do as good a job as the ones from Top Block...mine's an '09 and Idon't think Top Block do them ( tried emailing and got no reply.. Great customer services)

Seen pics of the Top Block ones with the bike on its side and the panniers are still off the ground.. I'd like to know if £375 in the Uk spent on the Kawasaki ones would be worth it  I'm thinking of protecting what's there if the bike over balances etc..

They didn't come out with that accessory in the US for the 1st gen bikes.  Don't know about the 2nd gens.  Sore point with me.  Asleep at the wheel, they were and still are.

The Kawi ones for the 1st gens "are" the Top Block ones, they are just Kawi badged.

I hear you there.  I had to order some parts from a UK dealer for my Versys.  Called Kawasaki US and they said they weren't doing those accessories in the US.  WTF?

Yes, did look at them... the 09 ones didn't seem as nice as the 2010 onwards ones... I hope the ones I've now ordered as above will do the job if the bike should fall over or be lowered through necessity   :o

These would offer you better protection than the sliders. Unfortunately I know as it didn't protect my lower fairing in a tip over, minor scratches. Would hate to see how much damage would be done with a little forward momentum. :(

I felt the same way for my 08. Got the small rear bag bars and will wait til Murph stocks the Top Block.

I also like the first gen Kawi badged Top Block ones because of the squared silver portion vice the rounded tube style ones Murphs is selling.

But you have to use the ones for year bike, so I'd have to go use the 2nd gen ones for my 2011.

You might want to reconsider....  we have a fair amount of evidence they do not provide all that much protection.  And they do nothing for the bags.  My recommendation would be the McE Canyon Cages front with their bag guards for rear...
Shoodaben (was Guhl) Mountain Runner ECU flash, Canyon Cages front/rear, Helibars risers, Phil's wedges, Grip Puppies, Sargent World seat-low & heated & pod, Muzzy lowering links, Soupy's stand, Nautilus air horn, Admore lightbar, Ronnie's highway pegs, front running lights, all LED, helmet locks, RAM Xgrip, Sena SMH10, Throttle Tamer, MRA X-Creen, BearingUp Shifter, PR4-GT, Scorpion EXO-T1200,etc

I just wanted to pop my head in and thank those of you who recommended products from MCE! To the OP: Whatever you decide to do, I hope it works out for you. However, if you have any questions regarding our accessories, don't hesitate to ask here or send me a PM!

That's correct. We just got into our new facility and are still getting things set up. The Canyon Cages have been so popular that it's been tough keeping them in stock while we made the move because production has been halted for nearly two weeks while we moved all of our machinery. However, we should have more ready to go in about two weeks.
