We used to have an Amazon Blue Front named Barney. He was 35 years old when he died, we had him for 25 of those years. I loved that bird and it hit me hard when he died of aspergillosis 3 or 4 years ago. Barney was very smart too and talked up a storm and he loved messing with the dogs.
Barney loved to look out the windows from his cage and whenever he saw someone outside he made a certain noise. Before we got dogs Barn would only make that noise when he saw someone outside. After we got dogs the dogs picked up on this noise and they knew that when Barney made this noise that there was someone to bark at outside and they would rush over to the window to bark at whoever it was. Well Barn picked up on this and he would make that noise just to mess with the dogs. He'd make that noise and then watch the dogs haul ass over to a window, barking before they even got there. The dogs would look and look but there wasn't anyone to bark at. It was funny as hell because you could watch Barney when he did this and he'd get a kick out of the dog's confusion.
Rest in peace buddy.
