I like it dirty!
« on: November 25, 2012, 05:06:01 AM »
I know Jim will appreciate it...  ::)

The supreme expression of laziness!

Not washing it since last spring...  ;D

Bugs and dirt...

The rear wheel and the shaft

Oh yeah: the windshield...

This is what you see from behind it...

It's a dirty world!

Are you inferring that a clean looking bike is preferable Jim?   :o

I think he is saying that things look better from the seat vs holding a pail and hose 8)

Keeping bugs and roadgrime on paint for long extended periods of time, is very bad for the finish.

Agreed.  I have no shame in the fact that I keep my Concours clean.

Nice pictures. My bike hasn't been that clean since February. 20,000 miles ago.

Can't really say that mine is clean per say, but it sure isn't caked with anything either. I try to take care of everything I have the best I can, without being OCD about it.  8)

I'm sorry to say mine looks a lot like ugocon's pics. When I do get time with the bike, I ride it instead of clean it.

I on the other hand am a bit OCD. I like to keep my house, yard, garage, bike, truck, and beer paraphernalia (this is a must if you want to make good beer), clean and organized. It makes me feel better and things seem to last longer, which for the bike translates to more riding for me.  ;)

I think he is saying that things look better from the seat vs holding a pail and hose 8)
On my trip this summer, if my bike was filthy after a day of riding I washed it. Who wants to be the guy out in the parking lot in the evening drink'n beer talk'n bike with a filthy bike and a windshield covered with bugs. You might as will put a sign on your bike saying, "I'm lazy and don't take care about my stuff."

Sorry Chet, but just cause Jay's spends all of his time waxing his bike instead of riding doesn't mean I do.   :o  :P

Well, I am OCD about it :)  I like my vehicles to look great; makes me feel great.

Even worse than bugs is bird crap.  That stuff, depending on the type, can actually permanently damage unprotected paint rather quickly (a very good reason to keep a good coat of polish or wax on the vehicle, and removing such ASAP).

Which wax do you guys use? I've never waxed mine, just plain water on a micro-fiber towell here, but I guess after 2 years I should put some wax on her...  :-\

For real, I've never waxed her... It was actually a serious question.  :-\

I'm with Tom on this one.  Seems too far fetched to believe.

I'm a big fan of Mothers or The Wax Shop, either in boat wax flavor.
