Doesn't want to run
« on: October 15, 2012, 04:41:06 AM »
Well, now that I got the side cover gaskets for the bike I got it back together to start and balance the carbss after the valve adjustment but now it doesn't want to run. There's fuel (wet plugs) and spark so it must be air but could it be the valves adjustment? I will be pulling the cover off and checking the gaps (bump style this time) but is there other things that I should be checking?

Sometimes the coil high voltage wiring upon reassembly - left coil should go to cylinders 1 and 4, right to cylinders 2 and 3.

I GOT IT! Turns out that the carb bowels for 1&3 had crap in them. I drained the bowels hooked up the tank, hit the key and it runs. I do plan on sending the carbs out this winter to be rebuilt but until then it runs, runs great and I can get what last few rides in that I can before that evil whit stuff hits.

Thanks for the help and I wish I would have done this earlier but it never crossed my mind. (I guess I always think of the bad first.) Now to try to fix the JBox before that leaves me dead in the water. ;D
