Where did you mount your Fuzeblock? (2010+)
« on: September 22, 2012, 09:51:19 PM »
I'm wondering where people are mounting their Fuzeblock.

The "toolbox" under the seat is just too far from everything I want to power (almost all up front)

I've removed the right-side fairing cover, and have been eyeing mounting it to the bracket that supports the baffle.

Any suggestions?  Pictures would really help too!

Thanks,

Inside the right upper fairing, remove the black piece and mount it on the foam baffle. Fits perfectly.

Put your tool kit in the cubby on the bottom of your Sargent's seat.

Then pull out the box which held your tool kit.
The fuse block can mount to one of the bolt holes and has plenty of room to grow.

Well, that is what I did.

Total best place IMHO, taking the chance of getting wet anyplace else.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!  I've decided to go with the right side baffle as well.  It is the closest to where most of the farkles that need power will be located, and the cover should be enough to protect it, it's just 12v.

Again, thank you!   :chugbeer: :chugbeer: :chugbeer:

So if you go with that position instead of under ths seat, you now have another question which needs to be answered...

How dificult is it to change out a fuse when I am traveling?

The right panel has three hex screws and one plastic rivet behind the windshield.

Under the seat, has one motorcycle key.

True, this is something to be considered.

I have all the tools needed to replace a fuse though, under the seat :-)

Plus, how many times have you had to actually change a fuse when on the road?

Nothing plugged into the fuzeblock is essential to being able to ride.

To me at least, it seems like an acceptable location.  To each their own, I guess though.

I can have that panel off in about two minutes.  For getting to a fuse you can probably leave the rivet under the windshield on and just tilt it up, although I admit I have not actually tried it.  With the right screwdriver you can get that rivet off without pulling the windshield off - I've done it several times.

I do like that you are thinking of pros and cons though!

Gonna have to say you're a little tie wrap happy,  clean install though. Nice write-up on your install, thanks.

Very clean install, nice work!

Liking that green too.  It's almost as sweet as the blue ones.   ;)  :)

Nice installs.

I took the tool kit out and mounted the Fuzeblock under the Corbin passenger seat for quick access. I'd post a pic but looks like a rats nest in there right now...
