Got my '12 for $12900 in May at Sport Cycles Rockingham, NC.

Great guys to work with.  Not real close to an airport though so getting from Charlotte to there was an adventure.

Super Tenere is on my watch list for when it comes time to stop playing adventure bike with my Versys and going full adventure bike.

I don't think your correct on the KBB trade in value with that many miles...   KBB list trade in value but then when you click the mileage button it says that it with bout 20k miles.. it does not let you specify how many miles like it does with a car.

But KBB also says this. 

Figures shown are for expected accumulated average mileage. Actual mileages may differ substantially. Because of variances in riding styles and road conditions, it is impossible for us to determine accurate dollar values for mileage. Overall condition factors will have a far greater impact on a value than the actual mileage.

Most dealers won't give you KBB trade in value anyway.  Most in my area will give you black book value which is wholesale value.  I usually sell my bikes outright but did trade in a Ninja because I didn't want to deal with kids wanting a test ride.

I had 39K on my 09 Connie when I traded for a 12 model.  Talladega Cycle in Alabama gave me 8K trade in and even swapped out a lot of the farkles I had on the 09.  Great people to deal with I have bought three bikes from them.

I got a chance to ride a Super Tenere a couple of weekends ago. Very nice. But when I saw one on the show room with panniers I was surprised by the price.

That is the real question... Cause I'm sure dealers will give you what you want on your trade but then they are going to bump up the price of the new one to make up the difference.

If the difference was say... $4k or so out the door then I think you got a great deal especially if they transferred all your farkles for free as well...

What are you looking to get (ie improvements) out of the 2012 that you don't have on the 2009 Olie?

I know the differences, I just wanted to know which ones were important enough to him to trade up for...
 
Some can obviously be done to his 09 for perhaps less $ out of pocket...

well... to start with 48K less miles as long as the price is right. Although I had zero problems, just regular maintenance, vlaves check and plenty... gas. I am not in the mood at this point in my life to be hanging out at the repair shops. Life is short.

There are a couple issues I would like to have it but life is not perfect. Cruise control, larger gas tank and more legroom for BOTH passenger and me. The Sargent seat does the job as well as the Remus pipe.

Also, an old bike can /will become a handyman special, just harrassment on any future trade in. I do not sell my bikes...just like to trade them in.

For sure the MY12 will have a pile of small improvements including software. Everything add up.

The issue is the how much $$$ is everything worth!!! That is where I am at this stage.

Well your 09 and the 12 are the exact same for those items listed...
 
But if you just want to get a new bike I totally get that, I do that often myself too, happy hunting!

If that website is accurate, I paid $1000 below invoice.  I know there was $1000 rebate, but that means the dealer didn't make squat on the sale of the bike.  I find that hard to believe.  I wonder if that is the price if the dealer only buy one unit.
