opinions on saddlemen seat?
« on: August 20, 2012, 08:49:14 PM »
I see a lot of comments on corbins, russels, etc. but not much on the saddlemen seat . Any opinions ? I never heard of them til I seen one on ebay . I like the pricing although that could be a downfall but its more reasonable for me price wise . Thanks for any info

I have one that I traded my beloved Sergant seat for and it is very comfortable.  I like it...

I have a saddleman seat and it is very comfortable, changes the ride height and the appearance of the bike a bit.  I like the changes but to each his/her own.

I had one on my 09, better than most others but I still wasn't totally happy with it. I think it needs a little more padding up front. The saddleman does not come with the hardware to mount it, you have to use the stuff from your old seat.
Keep in mind there are 3 different saddleman seats for the Concours,

The seat drops me about an inch and a half which works great for me at 6 feet, 32 inch inseam.  The seat is very comfortable with the memory foam for the passenger and the gel for the rider.  The bit of back support really helps out on a longer trip riding solo.  I have to look at my receipt to get the exact name of the seat, will post once I find the receipt.  I am very pleased with the Saddleman product.

Nice to see it on a bike . I'm hoping if there are 3 that one is stock height . I'm only 5' 10" but prefer being up higher . Thanks for info

Does the seat still push you into the tank? Or is the front just too hard? How is it on long trips?

Seat does not push me into the tank and the long trips I have taken have affected my knees more that the back.  Product of getting older I guess

I still slid some into the tank but not real bad. Once I put the front of the seat on top of the pins it is suppose to hook onto on the tank and it was  a lot better that way, it raised the front up just enough to keep  me from sliding forward.

Only had it on for a short ride to see if raising the front would help. The back was locked on so it wasn't going anywhee anyway.
