After 4000 miles of Dunlop Spormax Qualifier in the rear (no more thread), and 8000 miles of Pirelli Angel ST in the front (cupped, no more thread), I finally got around getting my usual Angels ST both front and rear. Ohhhh, what a difference!!! I drove to this guy who does the tire change. Took 20 miles Autobahn (120 mph) and 10 miles secondary roads, and the bike was wobbling around and not inspiring confidence. I don't have the gas-off wobble issue mentioned somewhere in the last days. Bike is stable and nice, just all over the place with old tires. When I drove off with the fresh Angels I couldn't believe the difference. The profile of the Qualifier is rounder, not as pointy as the rear Angel, so although the Qualifier has endless grip and a nice transition at the limit, the Pirellis do make the bike more flickable (for such a beast, that is). I even noticed that the speed shown by the speedo is more accurate than before (I was driving with GPS), and I think it has not only to do with the new thread, but also the shape or profile of the tire.
If it wasn't for
the stupid curb, I'd be happy.
